Editor, POWER
In October 2014, the world’s first full-scale carbon capture plant at an operating coal-fired power plant went online at SaskPower’s Boundary Dam Unit 3 in southern Saskatchewan. That landmark achievement earned the project POWER’s top award in 2015: Plant of the Year. This presentation will share details of the project drawn from a site visit made by POWER’s editor and from follow-up exchanges with project managers. It will also provide an overview of potential future technologies for use at power plants and why they may or may not prove successful.
